Position: Technician, Mine Operations (Hauling) Reference No.: 2024-2257 Date Posted: 1/2/2024 Location: Mount Milligan, BC, Canada Position Type: Full time Summary Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Hauling Operator(s) will be responsible for operating an Articulated Rock Truck in a safe and responsible manner. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures. Responsibilities * Assist with the operational integrity of the Mining department as required; to achieve safety, environmental, quality, costs, production and continuous improvement targets * Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports * Report unsafe mechanical conditions to a supervisor * Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment * Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous conditions Skills & Experience * 2 or more years experience running heavy equipment or operating a haul truck is preferable * Attention and compliance to established safety rules and guidelines is paramount * Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions encountered during a shift * Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs * Strong leadership/team skills and the ability to work independently as required * Experience in an open pit mining environment is an asset * Valid Canadian Drivers License and clear driver's abstract required Working Conditions * Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7 work schedule, 12 hours per day * Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration * Exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). * Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site * Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region What can we offer?
